Finally, a decent tasting gluten-free bagel option! Put some green goddess on top and a slice of an heirloom tomato and you might just be the happiest GF'er in your neighborhood.
We are constantly improving these, as they are a work in progress! It takes some skilled hands to make the dough (we do not use a mixer) and several skilled hands to shape them. It's like an all day affair.
Here is the fine print:
(please understand that we try our best to keep the GF bagels separate from our products containing gluten)
1. We are NOT a gluten-free facility, in fact we keep a pallet of high gluten flour sitting in the shop at all times. However, it is in a separate location from where we keep our GF ingredients.
2. We are super careful about cross contamination, we take you and your health very seriously.
3. We make the GF bagels in a separate space that is 25+ feet away from the sourdough bagel making space.
3. We bake the GF bagels on dedicated sheet pans only used for GF, HOWEVER, we use shared ovens to bake them (the sourdough bagels are baked in the same ovens, but at different times and usually different days too).
4. The ingredients we use are gluten-free, dairy free, soy free, nut free and NON-GMO and are carefully sourced. Please note them here:
buckwheat flour, corn starch, rice starch, psyllium seed fiber, brown sugar, gluten-free wheat starch* **, natural guar thickener and natural flavorings
*this wheat starch has had the gluten removed and is considered gluten-free and will contain less than 20ppm of gluten
**if you have a WHEAT allergy then this bagel is not for you, it is NOT wheat free
If you are unsure if these are safe for you to consume, the best thing to do is NOT TO ORDER THEM.
